Melting pot of diversity and cultures at Outram Park

Melting pot of diversity and cultures at Outram Park

Outram Park is conveniently located near the central part of Singapore. It is situated near the financial district and right outside the Downtown Core. Public transportation is readily accessible throughout the area. Beyond the business sections lies a flourishing community filled with recreational activities, culture, and delicious dining options that are best explored on foot.

Explore & Dine at Chinatown.

Chinatown is merely a 10 minutes walk away from Outram Park MRT. From shopping to dining, Chinatown is the best place to explore and discover new things! Chinatown Food Street is one of the best places to eat cheap, tasty and authentic local food in Singapore. There is a wide selection of hawker stalls and shop-house restaurants, encompassing a wide range of flavours from across Singapore, China and the rest of Asia. Head straight to Smith Street, where all the main food places are located at. You can get a full meal or a couple of side dishes to savour the various flavors. We reckon the latter.

Even if you are not a fan of spicy food, you have got to give the Stingray at Boon Tat Street BBQ Seafood a try. Order up a generous slab of the tender meat for around S$10!

If spicy food isn’t for you, how does grilled meat dipped in peanut sauce sound? Satay at Old Airport Road Satay Bee Hoon & BBQ Steamboat serves up succulent sticks of pork, chicken or beef grilled to perfection alongside with a slightly burnt/caramelized crust that is hard to stop at just one!

Singapore’s Chinatown is a hub for all things Chinese. If you are looking for traditional items, toys or even antiques, Chinatown is the place to be. It is always bustling with activities and the shops tend to offer great value Chinese items! If you want to give the big malls a miss, there is a street within walking distance that you can explore – Ann Siang Road. This lovely street filled with old shop houses is also an excellent place to shop for unique items.

Dining.

If you are looking for a tasty spot to hit on the way to work, for a mid-day stop, or on the way home, Outram Park has a variety of options.

Nylon Coffee Roasters: Nylon sells coffee beans as well as brews their own coffee
Binomio: Binomio is a Spanish restaurant. Their name means a “pair” or “duo.” This explains their concept which does offer fine dining, but also a tapas counter. Their counter offers cheeses, cold cuts, croquettes, seafood, lamb, churros, and custard, just to name a few—all in bite-sized, tapas-style portions.
Foong Kee Coffee Shop:  A simple, yet, nonetheless, popular coffee and snack shop. They offer a variety of roasted meats in soups and bowls, with a variety of spices. Locals agree the dishes are very appetizing.

Upscale Dining Options.

Restaurant Andre: This French restaurant also incorporates Mediterranean elements as well.
Togi 71 Korean Restaurant: From spicy stews to BBQ beef, to rice, noodles, potato pancakes, and many other additional Korean dishes, this restaurant is a hit with customers, bringing them back constantly.

Funan Digitalife Mall: The stores at this shopping centre include: beauty, clothing, sports, home furnishings, and jewellery, just to name a few. The mall includes dining options as well to satisfy your sweet tooth or your need for a salty snack.
